Chapter 1 - Verse 1

a knight is sworn to valor
his heart knows only virtue
his words speaks only truth
his might upholds the weak
his wrath undoes the wicked

I woke up from a long dream.... As i came to, i felt a draft of a shining silver. Barely misses my neck but managed to cut some of my hair..... Like possesed, my hand that is somewhat wielding a sword answered to this attack by blocking it on my left.

My conscience preceeds me, thus i am finally able to conclude that i was.... on a battlefield....
In front of me stands a soldier. A soldier with adequate training, wielding a sword, swinging it to me like there will be no tomorrow..... His purpose that day was clear, whether to kill, or be killed.... But, so was mine....

In a battlefield, one doesn't have the luxury of choosing one's enemy....
"To crush thy foes in the name of thy King!!" mutters the general, amidst the thousands of men confronting their enemies and the melding of my sword with the flesh of my enemy. "I shall not die today", alas, the least i can do is make his departure from this world a fast and less painfull one. The force from the blow resulted in seconds of balance lost. Though only a small sword, the Dragon slayer tends to loose its balance while cutting through mortal flesh. Those few seconds, almost cost me my life...

As I looked at my back, another soldier, fueled with rage, might be because of the death of a fellow comrade readying to land another blow to my shoulder.

Then, faster than he could react, I launched a counter attack, ending his participation in this campaign. After about three and a half day defending our castle, our troops has succumb to fatigue, and disarray. While the opposing army kept receiving reinforcement from their Kingdom. To think that I was riding my horse, to attack them first while their were grouping at the edge of the kingdom, and now, to be pushed back to the front gate of our own castle.

With the burning of our Kingdom's flag, all i can think about is the people that we have been protecting inside the castle. "All troops, fall back, regroup, reclaim the castle!!". I ran back as fast as i could, and there.. in the center of the castle's hall, I saw her....
